Drink 64 ounces of water per day. Proper hydration helps metabolize fat. Resolve never to super size your food portions unless you want to super size your clothes. Eat with purpose: be sure to plate it so you can sit down and enjoy it. Eating out? Halve it, and get the rest to go. Eat the low-cal items on your plate first. Start with salads, veggies, and broth soups; eat meats and starches last. Get calories from foods you chew, rather than from beverages. Remember fruits and vegetables provide lots of chewing time. Give it away! After company leaves, give away leftover food to neighbors, doormen, or delivery people or take it to work the next day. At a buffet? Eating a little of everything guarantees high calories. Decide on three or four things, only one of which is high in calories. Save that for last so there less chance of overeating.
