Shopping Alert | Amazing Pumpkin Recipes Crafts Carvings

Shopping Alert | Amazing Pumpkin Recipes Crafts Carvings

The first day of Fall just around the corner, pumpkin recipes are a popular trend among food bloggers right now. It is amazing what ingredients are paired with pumpkin. Keeping with the trend, this weeks shopping alert will include awesome pumpkin products and recipes finds as well.  A creative pumpkin appetizer that screams fall flavor, Parmesan Pasta Crackers with Pumpkin and Cauliflower, was found on Foodalogue, one of my favorite food blogs. Joan’s culinary and creative talent never ceases to amaze me! My dear foodie friend Catherine, author of The Living Gourmet, shared her spicy Pumpkin – Tomato soup. Tomato soup recalls fond childhood memories for many. With the addition of pumpkin, I  classify this one as a childhood favorite for adults. Another classic recipe with a pumpkin twist is this Pumpkin Macaroni & Cheese. The recipe originated from cooking light and includes 2 cups of pumpkin or squash and a crumble topping.  The breads, muffins, and sweets category proved to be swoon...

Baked Ziti |Pasta for my American Friends

Baked Ziti |Pasta for my American Friends

“Baked Ziti for My American Friends” Signature Pasta Dish Born and raised by a full-blooded Italian woman, how could pasta NOT be my favorite food! Receiving an opportunity to share My Signature Pasta Dish in conjunction with SocialMoms.com and Carrabas Pasta Personality Promotion was a perfect fit! My closest friends will tell you Baked Ziti is my Signature Pasta Dish. For me baked ziti is known as pasta for My American Friends! The history of this baked ziti dish stems from a long-lived family tradition. For many generations my family gathered on Christmas Eve to enjoy The Feast of Seven Fishes prior to attending midnight mass. Our Christmas Eve feast was originally held at Grandmas house, then passed on to my mother. Today I am the custodian of the tradition. Moving to Florida in the early 1980s and without family for some time, I forged friendships that I consider family. Every Christmas my parents would come and stay at...

Bisquick Easy Sweet Baking Recipes

Bisquick Easy Sweet Baking Recipes

Bisquick has been around since 1931. According to General Mills, “Bisquick remained trusted by cooks of all sorts, for all kinds of recipes: biscuits, pancakes, casseroles, pies, stews, and more.” Bisquick is truly a time saver for working moms, I can attest to that fact. A pound of lean ground beef, tomato sauce, cheese, spices, and of course, Bisquick can provide a family meal in 30 minutes or less. The Italian Bake is a family favorite. Using the biscuit recipe on the Bisquick box, mix enough batter to cover the bottom of a 9 x 11 greased baking dish. Bake in 350 preheated oven for 8-10 minutes. Meanwhile, cook up the ground beef with tomato sauce and season with Italian spices. Top the prebaked Bisquick base with the ground beef mix and sprinkle with Parmesan, Mozzarella, or other cheeses. Bake until golden and bubbly. Serve with a fresh green salad.   Midlife has unfolded a new cooking direction for...

Santa Fe Blend Mexican Lasagna

Santa Fe Blend Mexican Lasagna

Kraft has been a trusted and favorite brand for as long as I can remember. Being from the burbs of Philly, you knew I’d be a Philadelphia brand cream cheese fan too. When I learned Kraft First Taste was sending a coupon for a free tub of the new cream cheese cooking crème my excitement was akin to that of kid in a candy store. The coupons arrived just in time for the weekly grocery store run. Not only did I receive a free tub but also a second coupon for a $ 1.50 off a second tub – woo hoo! Inspired by the recipe insert, that evening I whipped up pork medallions with veggies and Santa Fe crème sauce served over yellow rice. The Santa Fe crème makes for a superb sauce. Spiced up nicely, very rich and super thick, at first glance, I thought it a spread. First, rub six regular pork chops with Adobo seasoning and...

Super Easy Super Bowl Recipes

Super Easy Super Bowl Recipes

Super Bowl Recipes – Pittsburgh Popcorn This post brought to you by Kenmore Live Studio. All opinions are 100% mine. Fun Super Bowl Recipes As many of you know, I am a self-proclaimed foodie and author the food blog Are you hungry? Check this out, there were no Super Bowl recipes prepared for Super Bowl XVI, January 24 1982. Can you imagine ME not preparing a single recipe on Super Bowl Sunday? San Francisco and Cincinnati were playing in Pontiac Michigan. The historical highlights from the 49ers website read: “Super Bowl XVI was a sight to behold. Thousands of 49er fans desperately clamored for tickets to see the 49ers first chance at a world championship. The scene in Pontiac, where the temperature was minus 27 degrees with the wind chill, was laughable. San Franciscans, with nothing warmer in their wardrobe than a London Fog raincoat, wandered around in Arctic conditions, shivering but uncomplaining. They were just happy to be...

Tabasco Original Red – Kick up the flavor!

Tabasco Original Red – Kick up the flavor!

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of TABASCO® Original Red. All opinions are 100% mine. TABASCO® Original Red is one of my favorite sauces; fellow foodie bloggers as well as my family will attest to that. I use Tabasco sauces in numerous marinade recipes, for enhancing vegetable casseroles, as well as to kick up the flavor and heat of red beans and rice. It is no wonder the company tag line reads, “TABASCO® Original Red, “So Much More Than Hot.” Like spicy chicken? Try coating chicken thighs in Tabasco Red mixed with a bit of Honey Dijon Dressing, dredge in breadcrumbs or seasoned flour, and bake. The result is a crispy oven fried spicy chicken with just a hint of sweet. Plus avoid the fat and hassle of frying chicken! As for buffalo chicken wings, oh my gosh Tabasco Original Red is so necessary. Did you know just two tablespoons of Tabasco original sauce will...
