Happy Memorial Day

American flagMemorial for the United States is a time to reflect and give thanks. Spending time with family, picnics and barbecues are the tradition on Memorial Day. This holiday was originally known as Decoration Day, and originated in the years following the Civil War. Then in 1971, Memorial Day was marked an official federal holiday.

One Marine described Memorial Day this way,”But to me, there is no better way to thank the men and women who have served our country than to enjoy the life of freedom and prosperity they fought for.” A beautiful analogy is it not.

Whatever you enjoy – have a barbecue, go for a drive, or buy one of those big fat discount cigars – engage in today to honor those who fought for our freedom!
