Hollywood Make Up Enhancement – A Midlife Funny

Hollywood Make Up Enhancement – A Midlife Funny

Obviously an inspiration for the Hell Raiser movies, the 1935 newspaper article reads in part, “The device, remotely resembling a baseball mask, fits over the head and face with flexible metal strips which conform closely to the various features. The strips are held in place by set screws, allowing for 325 possible adjustments. If, for instance, the subject’s nose is slightly crooked – so slightly, in fact, that it escapes ordinary observational – the flaw is promptly detected by the instrument and corrective makeup is applied by an experienced operator.”   Perhaps these beauty micrometers are the answer to midlife make up issues, just saying.

Keeping your midlife relationship fresh

Keeping your midlife relationship fresh

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of TwoOfUs. All opinions are 100% mine. Relationship questions, every newlywed has them. Of course, friends and definitely family members seem to know “the correct answer” and offer it up freely, as I recall.  Sounds typical right? One would also assume that by midlife most marriage or relationship questions have been answered. I am guilty of that assumption and you know what they say about assume…. Midlife or not, think again because as relationships evolve new questions arise. Midlife is filled with as much emotion as puberty if you ask me.  It would be nice if there were a place for relationship or marriage answers without engaging in those “correct responses” by friends or family.   Before you run from this sponsored post, this is not some “rubbish for a buck” information. TwoofUs.org does offer common sense tips on keeping your relationship fresh. Sometimes the answers to relationship questions...

Pin Ups Help Achieve Marketing Goals

Pin Ups Help Achieve Marketing Goals

Lapel pins are one of many promotional products used in marketing plans. Bet you thought I was referring to Pin Up Girls didn’t you. Nevertheless, a marketing plan generally includes three primary goals: create brand recognition, improved corporate identity, and to institute or expand customer connections. Brand recognition is easily created and reinforced with lapel pins. An organization is well branded when someone can mention an icon or your tagline and people immediately think of your group. Custom lapel pins can relay your logo or message in a memorable way and work continually on your behalf. As others take notice, word-of-mouth marketing takes effect and your brand spreads Embellished with a company logo, custom lapel pins represent an organization in a superior fashion. Custom designs convey distinction and quality and as a result strengthen corporate identities. Because a lapel pin is often considered jewelry, that high perception value helps encourage a more personal connection. In addition, lapel pins are oftentimes...

Funny Friday | Midlife Menopause

Funny Friday | Midlife Menopause

Hormones -  Produced by one tissue and conveyed by the bloodstream to another to effect physiological activity, such as growth or metabolism. Diminishing Estrogen levels result in awful  symptoms for midlife women. A laugh or two concerning menopause might just make it easier, at least for just a moment. Happy Friday! A study conducted by UCLA’s Department of Psychiatry … …has revealed that the kind of face a woman finds attractive on a man can differ depending on where she is in her menstrual cycle. For example, if she is ovulating, she is attracted to men with rugged and masculine features. However, if she is menstruating or menopausal, she tends to be more attracted to a man with duct tape over his mouth and a spear lodged in his chest while he is on fire. No further studies are expected. Submitted by Paul, Oklahoma City, OK **I think Paul gets the whole menopause thing. This just to goes to show you women...

“Baked Ziti for My American Friends” Signature Pasta Dish Born and raised by a full-blooded Italian woman, how could pasta NOT be my favorite food! Receiving an opportunity to share My Signature Pasta Dish in conjunction with SocialMoms.com and Carrabas Pasta Personality Promotion was a perfect fit! My closest friends will tell you Baked Ziti is my Signature Pasta Dish. For me baked ziti is known as pasta for My American Friends! The history of this baked ziti dish stems from a long-lived family tradition. For many generations my family gathered on Christmas Eve to enjoy The Feast of Seven Fishes prior to attending midnight mass. Our Christmas Eve feast was originally held at Grandmas house, then passed on to my mother. Today I am the custodian of the tradition. Moving to Florida in the early 1980s and without family for some time, I forged friendships that I consider family. Every Christmas my parents would come and stay at...

Safe Driving for Seniors | Dad Can’t Drive 55

Look to experts for advice if you happen to be the midlife child responsible for relinquishing a parent’s driving privileges. In many cases knowing one can drive is worth more than actually driving. I learned the magnitude of this senior driving theory firsthand as this was the case with my father. Signs of Driving Deterioration I noticed Dad’s outings becoming less and less. After living with us for about seven months, I noticed his trips to the store were reduced to maybe once every three weeks. He began to encourage me to drive his car rather than my own. Admittedly, I was rather relieved that his driving was less. I had ridden with him many times. He hugged the white line, drove with two feet, and didn’t notice traffic signs until he was upon them. I felt his vision and motor skills were not sufficient for safe driving not to mention his memory and hearing deterioration. In fact, with every trip...
