Free Breakfast – Quaker Oatmeal Squares Cereal

Free Breakfast – Quaker Oatmeal Squares Cereal

Oatmeal is one of my favorite grains. A bowl of hot oatmeal topped with farm fresh butter and a sprinkle of brown sugar is a cherish childhood memory. My boys enjoyed oatmeal as an afterschool snack topped with bananas. Of course, living in Florida they preferred the cold cereal variety. One of my favorite bread machine recipes is this Country Oatmeal Bread. In fact, oatmeal graham piecrust, created by my friend Catherine, has become a standard for my peanut butter pie!   The Clever Girls Collective teamed up with Quaker Oats offering members to sample their Brown Sugar Oatmeal Squares.  Free breakfast , yay! The newsletter read, “Everyone who signs up will be sent a free sample, but the deadline is TONIGHT, April 29, at 8 p.m. PDT or 750 Clevers, whichever comes first.” As you would expect, my reply was a jubilant yes! Several weeks later, the plain white box arrived with two samples of Quaker Oatmeal Squares, oh yummy!  ...

Holiday Shredding with Staples

Holiday Shredding with Staples

Staples invited bloggers like me to participate in shredding the holiday stress this season. Answering the question, “What stress you would “shred” this holiday season?” enters me for a chance to win a $500 Staples Gift Card. Being a faithful Staples customer made this holiday blogging opportunity even more lucrative and fun! Oh my gosh the holiday crowds have arrived. Living in tropical SW Florida offers migrating crowds and increased holiday stress let me tell you. Our winter residents, aka the snowbirds, arrive just in time for holiday shopping along with the winter vacationers. While our local economy appreciates their arrival, local drivers do not. Fighting the holiday shopping crowds inside the stores is bad but getting there is even worse! These people have to be some of the worst people to be on the road with. They obey traffic rules that apply to their home states rather than Florida’s laws and make sudden and erratic turns. The worst...

Lap Top Giveaway, oh really?

Lap Top Giveaway, oh really?

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Charter. All opinions are 100% mine. As part of Charter’s back-to-school campaign, they offered a laptop-a-day giveaway these 50 laptops to two schools. Along with that opportunity, individuals could also register for a chance to win a laptop. The laptops are Lenovo G555′s with a 15.6″ screen, 160GB drive and 3GB ram. Along with the laptop came a Targus carrying bag. Anyone who ordered any Charter service automatically has a chance to win and get up to $300 cash back. The real opportunity was for parents and others to nominate their local schools and encourage their friends and families to vote for their school as well. The outcome was to win the 50 laptops for schools who were nominated by Aug. 12. Based on the nomination stories submitted, Charter chose 50 finalists and announces them on Aug. 16. Isn’t it cool that huge companies are giving back to communities?...

Website Directory Submission – DIY

Building websites for leisure rather than a profession, I prefer the DIY approach for website promotion and link building. One way to build website back-links and increase search engine optimization is through directory submission, according to internet marketer Brad Callen. Directory submission increases your back-links, as the main purpose of presenting a web directory itself is to create links to the full. Even though manual directory submission may be a time-consuming and stressful process, it is very possible to do yourself. Some believe while directories submission really helps in increasing backlinks, free submission are very deep, and they do not have that value that helps in increasing search engine results page (SERP). Others say it takes a huge amount of directory submissions for a minimal return unless your website is listed in the most reputed Directory Dmoz. My opinion, it certainly cannot hurt to submit your site to free directories. Additionally, the owners of directories classify site submissions based...

Boudreaux Butt Paste – Treats more than baby butts

Boudreaux Butt Paste – Treats more than baby butts

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Boudreaux’s Butt Paste. All opinions are 100% mine. Why didn’ t I hear about Boudreaux’s Butt Paste? After all, it has been around for twenty plus years and has a most interesting history! The diaper rash cream was originally developed in the 1970s by Louisiana pediatrician “Pappy” Talbot. Later, the main formula found in Boudreaux’s Butt Paste was compounded by a local pharmacist, Dr. George Boudreaux. By 1994, Butt Paste had become quite popular among pediatricians, according to a piece featured on Oprah. Boudreaux sold his pharmacy to concentrate on marketing Butt Paste. Dr. Boudreaux initiated a marketing campaign comprised of regional trade shows and local pharmacies. Convinced by the presentation, a local Wal-Mart regional manager agreed to conduct product trials. The assessment revealed Butt Paste outsold the leading brand by a large margin. In the past few years, Butt Paste has been featured on The Oprah Show,...
