Funny Friday – Getting Older

Funny Friday – Getting Older

A woman goes to a doctor to discuss her husband’s infertility problem. The doctor says, “Just give your husband these Viagra pills in his next meal, and stand back.” The woman goes home and hands the pills to her cook who was preparing dinner for a dinner party later that night. The woman says to the cook, “Just put two of these in my husband’s dinner tonight.” As the woman walks out of the kitchen the cook thinks, “Sure, like I got nothing better to do,” and she throws the whole bunch into the soup. As the guests were sitting down to dinner, the cook comes out of the kitchen and advises the lady of the house that she must speak to her in that there is a big problem in the kitchen. The lady of the house follows the cook into the kitchen and demands to know what is going on. The cook admits to throwing all the...

Rogaine, is it right for you?

Rogaine, is it right for you?

I remember when Rogaine was first being advertised about twenty years ago, several friends were very excited to test it out. Engaging in lengthy conversations on the subject with both men and women, I learned the emotions associated with balding are very similar to having a mild disability or disfigurement. That somehow sounds silly, I know.  The onset of balding is the time these emotions are strongest, from what I was told. The self-consciousness is even more pronounced with men and women who begin to loose hair at an earlier than normal age. It was really rather sad to hear how this hair loss affected their lives. While Rogaine has been approved by the FDA and testing has proven it to promote hair growth, it does not reverse hereditary pattern baldness. What it does do is regrow hair for those who have other types of hereditary hair loss. Here are two excerpts from reputable sources concerning, Minoxidil, the active...

Stress and hair loss

Everyone loses approximately 100 hairs per day, out of the 100,000 contained by the average scalp. A few contributing factors are lifestyle, styling, and the infamous aging process. Other common causes of hair loss include Genetic hair loss, age, gender, and hormones. Stress and Hair Loss: It is true that stress can cause hair loss. Extreme physical or emotional stress, for instance stress associated with injury, illness, or surgery, can cause one of two types of hair loss: The most common type, Telogen Effluvium is the less severe type of hair loss where the hair stops growing and lies dormant, only to fall out 2 or 3 months later. It generally grows back within 6 to 9 months. Alopecia Areata is the second type and involves a white blood cell attack on the hair follicles. Similarly, the hair also falls out within weeks and usually in patches. The main difference is the entire scalp and even body hair can...

Funny Friday – Salute Dad

Funny Friday – Salute Dad

What better a way to honor Dad this Father’s Day than with a bit of humor! To be a successful father, there’s one absolute rule: when you have a kid, don’t look at it for the first two years. – Ernest Hemingway A little child in church for the first time watched as the ushers passed the offering plates. When they neared the pew where he sat, the youngster piped up so that everyone could hear: “Don’t pay for me Daddy, I’m under five.” Daddy, daddy, can I have another glass of water? But I’ve already given you ten! I know, but the bedroom is still on fire! The father of five children had won a toy at a raffle. He called his kids together to ask which one should have the present. “Who is the most obedient?” he asked. “Who never talks back to mother? Who does everything she says?” Five small voices answered in unison. “Okay, dad,...

How Mom survives in a household of men!

Are you a Mom of all boys? If your answer is yes, you have to check out the interview with author Sharon O’Donnell! My boys are grown now however, had her book been published while I was raising them, I would have bought it in an instant! This is too real and very funny! To give you some insight, this is an excerpt from the front page of her website, momsofboys.org: “Lost in a world of bathroom humor, sports, and Mt. Everest-sized piles of laundry, moms often lose their identity as a woman and their sanity as a human being. Moms of Boys have long forgotten what it’s like to go to a ‘girls’ movie or to the theatre or ballet or to have time to paint their toenails or even shave their legs.” Recommend on Facebook Share on FriendFeed Buzz it up Share on Linkedin share via Reddit Share with Stumblers Share on technorati Tweet about it Buzz...

4G iPhone for Dad, maybe?

4G iPhone for Dad, maybe?

The new 4G Iphone is expected to be released in early June. The phones will ship later in the month. Walmart has ads showing the roll back of 3G iPhone prices. It’s funny, according to Wired.com, AT&T’s CEO Ralph da la Vega said during an investor conference that his company was not fazed by the possibility of a Verizon iPhone. Apparently, a Morgan Stanley analyst says somewhere around 70% of Verizon customers would upgrade to the new iPhone without having to switch their network. No concerns from AT&T, yeah right. Junk thinkers

A short rant… This is about those male supplements like extenze, if you can call them supplements, that  have some nasty side affects and to me sound so much like a joke that I can’t hardly fathom someone even trying them. It has to be that old cliche… There are some men out there – notice I said some and not all – who would have no thought process whatsoever if it was not for their junk. Moreover, I would bet money that the majority of women have the ability to pick that type out of a crowd.
